This UFO Airbnb Might Be The Strangest We’ve Ever Seen

We’ve seen some truly strange Airbnb’s in our time: the Hobbit house, the caravan in the tree, the one shaped like a Beagle… But the latest one might just take the cake for the weirdest yet. You can now literally sleep inside a UFO, thanks to an ‘intergalactic glamping pod’ in Wales.

The owners of the  Spodnic Space Ship in Templeton, Pembrokeshire have left no stone unturned when it comes to creating a futuristic vibe.

From the tin foil wallpaper and spacesuits and alien figurines to the LED neon lights that illuminate the pod, every last detail has been designed to make you feel like you’re literally in a sci-fi movie.

The Spodnic sleeps four people, with a rotating circular double bed and a couch that turns into a bunk bed. There’s also a kitchen and bathroom outside the spaceship in a covered area, as well as a hot tub (unfortunately just the regular kind, not a Hot Tub Time Machine).

While you might not spot any real-life aliens, there’s plenty of stargazing to be done, as the sleepy town of Templeton is known for its clear, unpolluted skies.

The pod was originally a steel container built for the 2012 London Olympics, but current owners and sci-fi fanatics Martin and Carol Anne gave it an intergalactic makeover. With a five-star rating, super-host status and dozens of rave reviews, it’s clear that guests at the Spodnic can expect a truly out-of-this-world experience. Prices start at £90 (AU$160). Prepare for blast-off!
