This Very Good B&B Is Shaped Like A Giant Beagle

Dog Bark Inn, Cottonwood, Idaho

Hoteliers have come a long way when it comes to accommodating pets, but one bed and breakfast in Idaho has taken things to another level, offering accommodation that’s shaped like a giant beagle.

The adorably named Dog Bark Inn is located in the city of Cottonwood and is known to locals as Sweet Willy. The four-legged digs is the brainchild of husband-and-wife team Dennis Sullivan and Francis Conklin, who’ve been operating the business since 1997.

Sullivan is a self-taught chainsaw artist with more than 30 years’ experience and is particularly adept at carving small wooden dogs. He and Conklin invested the money they made from selling his cute carvings through a TV shopping network into the Dog Bark Inn and the rest, as they say, is history.

The B&B sleeps four people, and features air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, books, games and puzzles, but no phone or TV. A smaller dog called Toby keeps Sweet Willy company, though he’s just for show.

While they’re there, guests can check out the Dog Bark Park artists’ studio and gift shop, which features some of Sullivan’s smaller canine, feline, bear, moose and fish creations.
