Your Dream Hotel Has Popped Up On A Secret Hillside In The Yarra Valley

Spending the night in a shipping container sounds about as appealing as sleeping on the roof of Melbourne Central. But, just like the St Jerome’s glamping hotel in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, appearances can be deceiving.

“The Spontaneity Suite” – a joint initiative between new booking app HotelTonight and Ovolo Hotels – is a luxurious pop-up hotel room that is steadily making its way around Australia. It’s currently situated on a remote hilltop overlooking Victoria’s stunning Yarra Valley and boasts its own rooftop hotub and terrace, a free-standing indoor bathtub, a mini cocktail bar, a rain shower, Coco Republic-designed interiors and a master bedroom with wall-to-ceiling glass windows.

Not luxurious enough? How about keyless entry, return limousine transfers from Melbourne, all-inclusive meals, free minibar and a wine-tasting tour at the TarraWarra Estate. There’s even an Apple TV for those rare moments when you’re staring out at the vineyards and thinking, “Gee, wonder what’s on Netflix right now?” As an added bonus The Bachelor’s Tim Robards has already warmed up the bed. Here he is giving a personal tour of the rooftop jacuzzi with girlfriend Anna Heinrich:

So what can you expect to pay for an experience like this? Oh, just the bargain basement price of $32,000. Yep, that’s $32,000 per night – not forever. But there is hope for us mere mortals, with the good folks at HotelTonight and Ovolo Hotels dropping the price to $99 until August 31. This special promotion kicked off today and the room was snapped up via the HotelTonight app in just five minutes. After the promotion winds up, one more night at the hotel will be auctioned off on the app for food rescue charity OzHarvest, before the suite travels down the Hume to a secret location in Sydney. You can follow its journey on Instagram here.
