You’ll Soon Be Able To Swim With Humpback Whales In WA

Swimming with whale sharks over at Exmouth on WA’s northern coast is surely one of those iconic experiences every Aussie should do at least once. Swimming right beside these glorious gentle giants in one of the most picturesque locations in the world is a privilege.

Now, Exmouth Diving Centre is offering you the chance to swim alongside another underwater wonder – humpback whales.

Beginning in August of this year, the diving centre’s unique humpback whale swim will see visitors cruise alongside a huge congregation of migrating humpback whales in the UNESCO World Heritage Ningaloo Reef. It’s said that over 40,000 of these mammals pass along the WA coast each year towards their feeding grounds in Antarctica.

Exmouth Diving have been given special permission to approach the humpback whales within 50 metres of their boats, and they offer an exclusive swim program. In order to maintain strict environmental standards (and to not freak out the whales), a maximum of five swimmers are allowed in the water at any one time.

Prices for the swim start at $199 per person, and be sure to check out Exmouth Diving’s website here to pre-book your swim.
