A Five-Day Cocktail Festival Featuring Some Of The World’s Best Bars Is Coming To Sydney

Let’s all just admit it, cocktails make a person feel all fancy and high class. Like, even when I’ve made my own at home and am sipping it in my pyjamas in front of Netflix. They also happen to be delicious, but that’s just a bonus.

From April 28 to May 2 this year you can get out of your loungewear and experience some of the best cocktails in the world at the World Class Cocktail Festival coming to Sydney.

Seven of the World’s 100 Best Bars just so happen to be in Australia — and every one of them will be part of this festival. Coming at the perfect time, seeing as we can go dancing afterwards now, join in a range of events from a battle for Australian World Class Bartender of the Year and live entertainment, to bespoke cocktails and dining collaborations.

From Wednesday, April 28, Surry Hills and the CBD will kick off with five days of these events, all celebrating the very best of Sydney’s diverse bar scene. Expect names like Maybe Sammy, Cantina OK! and Bulletin Place.

Personally, I’m most excited by the ‘Mexico’s Golden Age’ event at Golden Age Cinema. You’ll get to enjoy a little Don Julio tequila while watching some of the best films from Mexican directors, like Desperado, Like Water For Chocolate, El Mariachi, Brimstone & Glory and (my all-time fave movie) Pan’s Labyrinth.

while you watch cinematic favourites celebrating some of Mexico’s most esteemed film directors at Golden Age Cinema. For a cultural buzz that pays homage to Mexico’s best, Don Julio has taken charge of the film schedule, screening Desperado, Like Water For Chocolate, El Mariachi, Brimstone & Glory and Pan’s Labyrinth. Don’t worry there are a few sessions so you don’t have to sit down the whole day.
