Formerly known as the Texaco Building of downtown LA, the Ace Hotel sits above the historic United Artists Theatre, which occupies three floors of the 13-storey building, and was built in 1927. The theatre seats 1600 people in its delightfully gothic looking amphitheatre.
A few floors up you’ll arrive at the recently renovated Ace Hotel, an artisan design hotel that’s rife with turntables, cartoon sketches, cooler-than-you fashionistas, and a box office that moonlights as a juicery. It’s over the top, and very LA – which is perfect if you want to embrace the cool and live it up like a local.
The boutique hotel features 182 rooms, a rooftop pool with a killer view, a restaurant and three rad bars. Rooms are art-deco in style, with vintage-style furniture adding to a prominent ’70s vibe across the hotel. You’ll want to don your flares and rainbow shades just to feel apart of it all.
