Call Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett, get George Clooney and Brad Pitt on the phone. Give all four of them my number and then get to work – there’s a heist to plan! The Watergate Hotel in Washington, DC is inviting would-be burglars to steal its pride and joy bottle of whisky.

The Watergate scandal might be the most infamous burglary-gone-wrong in history, but now the Watergate Hotel is giving us the chance at a do-over to pull off the perfect crime. The Next Whisky Bar inside the hotel has installed a safe containing a bottle of 1960 Last Drop Whisky, and whoever can figure out the combination to the safe gets to keep the prize.

To get a shot at the safe, first you’ll need to buy the Break the Safe whisky flight. It comes with three high-class vintage spirits, and will set you back $200. But hey, that’s still a tidy couple of thousands of dollars profit if you crack the safe.

If you do manage to break open the safe, your prize is more than just an expensive bottle of alcohol. It’s one of only a handful of bottles of 1960 Last Drop Whiskey available in the world. The Next Whisky Bar’s chief bartender Rachel Sergi describes it as “featuring tasting notes that are super spicy with fresh cut grass on the palate.”

The stunt marks the 47th anniversary of the Watergate scandal, when then-US President Nixon covered up a break-in at the Democratic National Committee by members of the Republican party to help him win a re-election campaign.

“Beginning this month with all eyes on the anniversary, we’d be remiss if we didn’t celebrate it with a little mischief of our own,” says Pascal Forotti, managing director at the Watergate Hotel.
