Washing Clothes While Travelling Just Got A Whole Lot Simpler

Finding the time to do laundry can be difficult when travelling, especially when you’re on the road. Some hotels don’t have washer/dryers, laundromats are few and far between and the thought of using the washboard that your kind Peruvian apartment host has left out for you seems… extreme. So what’s the solution?

Well, there’s this thing called a Scrubba. A Scrubba claims to be the world’s smallest washing machine; it claims to clean your clothes just as well as a proper washing machine in just three minutes.

This lightweight bag functions as its own sink – you fill the bag up with your dirty clothes, some laundry detergent and warm water and close it up. After ridding the bag of excess air through an air valve on the side, you can start scrubbing. Inside the bag there are these “nobules” that act like a flexible and modern version of a washboard.

As the you rub and swish the contents of the bag, clothes will rub against the nobules scrubbing away dirt and stains. Once you’re done scrubbing, rinse and hang out your clothes to try – simple as that.

The Scrubba bag folds up to be super small, so you won’t have to worry about it taking up precious space in your luggage either.

I don’t know about you, but this looks pretty awesome. The reviews are pretty favourable too – one reviewer even said she “had fun” cleaning her clothes, and the whole process was “a blast”. Anything to make washing fun, right?
