Disney World Just Got A Spook-Tastic Halloween Makeover

Walt Disney World Halloween

It’s hard to believe the Happiest Place on Earth could ever be scary, but Florida’s Walt Disney World is giving it a red hot go, installing all manner of Halloween-themed paraphernalia in the park’s Autumn Village.

A timelapse video posted by Disney shows staff working long after the Magic Kingdom’s gates have closed for the night, installing Mickey-themed wreaths and peppering the park with pumpkins and jack-o’-lanterns in the lead up to October 31.

Cinderella’s castle has also been given the Halloween treatment, while installations and a spooky fog will be permanent fixtures for the rest of the season.

Not prepared to settle for a single day of haunted festivities, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Haloween party has been running every day since August 25, and will continue through November 1. There’s a Halloween parade, Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular, a fireworks display, and treat trails throughout the Kingdom.

It’s worth noting that, if you’re planning on taking part, the party isn’t included with regular park admission.

And, adding to the park’s already impressive line-up of delicious novelty foods, Walt Disney World has introduced bright orange Mickey-themed cupcakes, pumpkin-flavoured ice cream, Jack Skellington vanilla panna cotta pops, pumpkin Mickey-shaped waffles and Oreo-topped chocolate graves.
