Nice: Virgin Australia Is Back With Sale Fares From $69
We love a good comeback, almost as much as we love a good sale fare when we’ve been stuck at home for months. Virgin Australia has given us both with the ‘Because Everyone Loves a Comeback’ sale.
To celebrate the return of their weekly Happy Hour sales, Virgin are offering a huge 125,000 seats for sale, including low-cost economy fares starting from only $69, and business class fares from $250.
Where can we go?
We’re talking Sydney to Ballina from $69, Canberra to the Gold Coast from $129, fancy Business fares from Sydney to the Gold Coast from $299, Adelaide to Melbourne from $109 and Perth to Sydney from $239.
“Virgin Australia is here to stay and we’re grateful to our customers for their continuing support,” said Virgin Australia Chief Commercial Officer John MacLeod in a statement.
“With travel restrictions starting to ease, we thought we would celebrate by bringing back Happy Hour and offering some great value fares along with our much-loved service”.

The fine print
Much like Jetstar before them, Virgin are also offering fee-free flight changes to make booking flights more viable in these weird times. Except they took the policy one step further, allowing unlimited changes to be made to any bookings made between today and September 30 this year.
The sale started at 11am and will run for 12 hours only, so go get some. Travel dates are between July 13 and August 31 2020, and you can go have a gander/ spend all your money over here.
More routes announced
The sale comes after an earlier announcement that Virgin will be re-opening 11 more domestic routes to their current flight offerings, which had been seriously trimmed thanks to COVID, with another 17 planned by August 4.
That means you can once again get flights to and from Newcastle, Hobart, Launceston, Darwin, Alice Springs, Hamilton Island, Maroochydore, Ballina, Coffs Harbour, Proserpine, and Mount Isa.
