You Can Literally Walk Through Van Gogh’s Famous Paintings At This Interactive Sydney Exhibit

Whether you actually know about art, or you’re just someone who enjoys looking at pretty pictures (me), we can all agree that Dutch post-impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings are bloody impressive. The only thing that could make them better? Wandering through the worlds that he creates.

Thanks to a new interactive exhibition making its Australian debut at Sydney’s Royal Hall of Industries in the Entertainment Quarter from September 18, that’s exactly what you’ll be able to do.

Originally slated for Melbourne, the change of city for Van Gogh Alive was recently announced following Victoria’s latest resurgence of COVID-19 (sorry guys).

The experience will feature dynamic projections of the artist’s most famous artworks, which have been synced to a soundtrack to create a whole new world for punters. Oh, and there are certain scents timed to be release in the right spots too, so this is truly a multi-sensory experience.

The pure size of the exhibition is something else, needing enough projection screens to equal more than 30 IMAX cinema screens.

So yeah, she’s big, she’s bold and she’s totally worth getting hyped for.

Tickets aren’t on sale just yet, but you can sign up to their waitlist to be notified when they do. At which point I can only imagine you’ll need to get in quick.

Most of us have been enjoying the re-opening of the city’s art galleries so we can look at nice things and forget that the world is burning.

It’s also added a nice dimension back to dating that Zoom simply couldn’t fill, although some of us really tried. In fact, we’ve even rated the horniest galleries in Sydney for your next dating adventures, you’re welcome.
