A Truffle & Charcuterie Festival Is Coming To Melbourne
When it comes to edible delights, little beats truffle and charcuterie. It’s indulgent, luxurious, and simply delicious. And the lucky people of Melbourne are about to get one seriously delicious dose.
Next month, an entire festival dedicated to truffles and charcuterie is coming to Prahran Market. Taking place on Sunday July 9, the Truffle & Charcuterie Celebration will see a plethora of pop-up food stalls, live entertainment and more.
There’ll be plenty of take-home treats, and you’ll even be able to buy whole truffles from sole trader Damian Pike, who’ll be officially kicking off the season with fresh black winter truffles.
But it’s not just about what you can take home, with an Omega By Neil Perry Kitchen cooking up a mouth-watering feast. Elsewhere there’ll be tasty treats from Yarra Valley Truffles and Barossa Fine Foods, while hot food on offer will include truffle cacio e pepe (pasta cooked in a cheese wheel – um, have I died and gone to food heaven?) and scallops baked in truffle butter. For the sweet teeth out there, you’ll even get to gorge on truffled chocolate waffle doughnuts.
Feeling thirsty? Fear not, there’ll be plenty of wine, champagne and more to match with the many edible delights at the market.
Ever wanted to know how to make your own charcuterie? Damian Sandercock of the Piper St Food Company will also be holding a charcuterie making workshop on the day, meaning your dinner party game just stepped up a notch or ten.
You’ll find Prahran Market at 163 Commercial Road, South Yarra. If you’re lucky enough to be in Melbourne on July 9, you know what to do. Head to the official website for more details, including a full list of vendors and packages.
