This New Report Reveals How Travel Affects Each Star Sign, And We See You Horny Geminis

Whether you're at home or on the road, there's no excuse to miss AWOL ever again. Sign up to our newsletter, and follow us on Instagram.

Tourism Australia’s Annual [Leave] Report is out for 2021, with some fun discoveries about how an extended break (five nights or more) is beneficial to our health and livelihood. It even drills down on how it affects us based on our star sign, which I personally love to see.

There are plenty of fun stats in here, like the fact couples are twice as likely to get it on if they take a holiday than in regular life — love that for you, couples. On that note, whether it’s with friends, partners or random strangers, 78 percent of Aussies who took a big trip “noticed positive changes in their relationships”.

Also, the fact that 83 percent of Aussies who took a big holiday “are more likely to be productive”. So your boss can’t really deny your vacay now, can they?

Not to mention that 53 percent of Aussies who went on a big holiday “reported improvements to their overall mood”, which is 19 percent higher than those who hadn’t. They’re also 93 percent more likely to eat healthily during the week.

You get it, travel is fun AND good for you.

Call me a star nerd, but where it gets really interesting to me is the discovery that Australians who have been on a longer holiday “are more likely to be connected to their star sign traits”. Let’s deep dive, shall we?

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

Known as the dreamers of the zodiac, 34 percent of Aquarians who took a long trip noticed their creativity increased in the last 12 months (a 12 percent increase from those who hadn’t).

Pisces (February 19- March 20)

With half of the Pisces who travelled finding they exercise more regularly and really lean into their zodiac reputation for loving movement, that was an 18 percent increase from those who didn’t.

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Ambition is at the core of every Aries, and a whopping 80 percent of those who took a longer trip feel they’re more motivated at work, compared to only 53 percent of those who stayed put.

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

Let’s be real my fellow Taureans, we’re stubborn af. Sure, sometimes it’s a good thing, but other times we just need to chill out — which we are more likely to do after a recent holiday when we’re twice as likely to avoid an argument than if we haven’t travelled yet.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

Gemini are known for their passion and fun, which just increases when they take a trip, apparently. These air babies are six times more likely to report a higher libido on vacay than stuck at home.

Cancer (June 21 – August 22)

My sweet, sensitive Cancers — you guys are feeling all the things and therefore can be a little prone to mood swings. Never fear, just book a trip. Travel improved the mood of 52 percent of Cancers — the rest of them clearly needed a longer trip.

Leo (July 23 – 22 August)

Leos love to chase a goal, but without a decent holiday, they can lose focus. A full 78 percent of Leos found it easier to focus after a recent trip, compared to only 54 percent of Leos who could concentrate without a holiday

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

I’ve never met a Virgo who wasn’t outrageously practical and hardworking. Don’t forget to take a little time out though, Virgo, because you’re twice as likely to take sick days if you don’t take a vacay.

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

Libra feed off the energy of those around them, but these social butterflies can fall off the social scene without a good getaway. While 60 percent of Libras who had taken a big trip felt they socialised a lot, only 44 percent of those who stayed home felt the same way.

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)

Scorpio are a fiercely determined group, and ambitious when it comes to their careers. If you really want to succeed, Scorpio, take a trip — 69 percent of travelling Scorps report feeling motivated, while only half of those who didn’t take a trip feel the same way.

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

Sagittariuses are known for wearing their hearts on their sleeve and being just as social as Gemini, but without a good break, they might lose this ability. Sagi’s who took a long trip are three times more likely to report better communication with others than those who didn’t.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)

Capricorns have big dreams, but take a grounded approach in reaching them. If these earth babies need a productivity boost, it seems they can just book a holiday. 87 percent of those who did reported feeling productive, compared to 74 percent of Capricorns who didn’t take. trip.

Now that we all know we obviously need another trip, here’s a list of where you should travel in Australia based on your zodiac. You’re welcome.
