This Brooklyn Bar Only Has Space For You, Your Date And The Bartender

Three's a crowd.

Going for a cocktail in New York can feel like hard work. Some are so popular they’re about as intimate as the bustling city streets during rush hour.

But, what if we told you there’s a cheeky spot in Brooklyn where intimacy and seclusion is priority? Where there’s only enough space for three people (including the bartender)?

Threesome Tollbooth, a bar the size of — you guessed it — a tollbooth, has just opened on a wide industrial avenue in Bushwick, Brooklyn, and seats exactly three people – the bartender and two guests.

Threesome Tollbooth is the brainchild of artist and bar proprietor N.D. Austin. “You own the space,” Austin told the New York Times. “It changes every time according to who comes and what they bring,” he said, referring to the guests’ sense of adventure. “After all, you’re the only one there”.

The bar is a speakeasy of sorts, with the exact location and details of your rendezvous disclosed on the morning of your visit. According to the bar’s website, there’s no dress code – just come however you feel comfortable.

You won’t find any pictures online, and there’s very little info. It’s more of a see-it-for-yourself kind of gig.

Tickets start at $130 ($100USD) for a one-hour cocktail sampling session. Your ticket covers the whole experience, including service. Book yours via the website.
