This Video Of A Baby Elephant Meeting His New Family Is The Best Thing You’ll See All Day
Quite possibly the most adorable baby video online right now.
Talk about a warm welcome: an orphaned baby elephant in Thailand has been welcomed into a new herd in what might be the most adorable video online right now.
Dok Geaw is only one year and nine months old, and tragically lost his mother, who worked in the logging industry, when he was just four months old.
Dok Geaw was rescued by Khun Kanjana Silpa-archa, who fed and cared for him at a conservation centre in Lampang.
After more than a year of intensive care, Dok Geaw is happy and healthy, weighing in at 775 kg. He has now been delivered to the Elephant Nature Park in Northern Thailand to join a herd, because “he deserves a family”. The video below provides a little more information about his journey thus far.
Upon arrival at the park, Dok Geaw signalled his arrival to other elephant herds in the area by sending “vibrations” out, or “trumpeting”, after which a nearby herd responded in the most uplifting and heart-warming manner: racing as fast as they possibly could to greet their young newcomer.
“It was just absolutely beautiful to watch these magnificent beasts come flying across to see this new creature”, said Australian volunteer Debbie Charlesworth in the video.
This is the best thing you’ll see all week:
The Elephant Nature Park has also shared a few videos of Dok Geaw in his new home, including this adorable video of him in a river for the first time:
