This Space Themed Capsule Hotel Lets You Pretend You’re In Star Wars

Decked out with capsule bedding, blue LED lights, robot service and a common room that wouldn’t feel out of place on the Millennium Falcon, the Pengheng Space Capsules Hotel in Shenzhen feels like something out of a futuristic space novel, not a budget hotel in China.

Following the trend set forward in Japan, capsule hotels have been popping up almost everywhere, and for good reason. They’re cheap and remarkably niche – who needs a giant hotel room when all you really need is a whole in the wall and a locker for your bag?

But what the Pengheng Space Capsules Hotel does differently is what makes it so exciting. There’s amazingly little to no staff – and while this might sounds unappealing to most, you’ll probably enjoy it a little more than you think.

That’s right, the hotel is run by robots. Live out all your R2D2 fantasies with a miniature robot waiting on you hand and foot – food and drinks are ordered via tablet and are delivered by the cutest robot since No. 5 from Short Circuit.

The accommodation also looks like something straight out of Star Wars with compact bedding available for all guests. The hallways almost mirror the minimalist and crispy clean halls of the Death Star, and you’ll half be expecting to see Darth Vader and his minions creeping around the corner.

If that doesn’t sway you, a night at Pengheng is also ridiculously cheap with prices starting at only $17 AUD a night. There’s really no reason why you shouldn’t check out this futuristic space hotel – your robot is waiting.
