This Map Will Tell You Where To Travel And When For Ideal Weather
It’s always awesome to visit a place when the weather is just right. You feel like you’ve hit the jackpot. But it’s hard to know exactly when that’ll be.
Just because you’re travelling somewhere in the summer season, doesn’t mean there won’t be lots of rain. Or you want a beach vacation in September, but where on Earth will the sun be shining? Ryan Whitaker wanted these answers too, but was pretty shocked when he realised there wasn’t a tool to help you out. He couldn’t locate a single map that would help you access the best weather at the best times around the world, so he created one.
The interactive map on DecisionData.org showcases the best time to visit anywhere in the world. You simply enter in your preferred week, weather temperature (in Celcius or Farenheit) and how much rain you’d prefer, and it will pinpoint a whole bunch of places that will more than likely reflect this weather. So even if you don’t know where to go, but you know how you want to spend your time and when, you can pick a place from the map. Cool, huh?
Whitaker collated the map by looking at 10 years of data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Thirty-five million lines of data, to be exact. No wonder no one had gotten around to this yet.
While the map is pretty much accurate across the board, Whitaker does note some areas that haven’t consistently reported their rain or snowfall so you have to take the advice with a grain of salt.
We’re pretty thankful for this very helpful corner of the internet. Thanks for your service, Ryan.
