Perched seven metres in the air, the Bangkok Tree House in Thailand’s south lets you sleep under the stars with your very own private floor above a sea of Mangrove palm trees. The “room” has been fittingly called the ‘View With A Room’ – rather than a room with a view – seeing as it’s clearly all about the surrounding sights.

Sitting just beside the Chao Phraya River that slices through Bangkok’s city centre, this adorable treehouse will be your home away from home while you’re relaxing in pure paradise. Guests are treated to free Wi-Fi (you’ll definitely want to share this place with your friends), complimentary breakfast, free bicycle rental to explore the city below and free homemade ice-cream around the clock. Don’t mind us, we might just stay here forever.

The hotel was inspired by Henry David Thoreau’s Walden, a novel which chronicles Thoreau’s time spent living in the wilds on Massachusetts and dictates his thoughts on simple living in natural surrounds. You can tell they’ve taken Thoreau’s ideals quite literally here – guests are completely immersed in nature, which makes it a great spot of switching off from the outside world and getting lost in the wild. Quite magical, really.

Prices for the Bangkok Tree House start at 6590 baht ($252 AUD) per night.
