Play A Game Of Pac-Man IRL In This Massive Inflatable Maze With Ghosts And Prizes

the pac maze

Remember Pac-Man? Those games about the fun little yellow dot whose entire life is running away from ghosts inside a maze while he gobbles up his fellow yellow dots in a show of dominance? (That’s what Pac-Man’s about, right? Egh, close enough.) Well, good news everybody. Pac-Man is back, but this time, we become the Pac-Man.

The Pac Maze is a real-life video game pop-up coming to Brisbane and Melbourne later this year. Players will enter a giant, pixellated maze that will have you running, dodging ghosts and grabbing prizes to be the ultimate winner.

Inside the maze, you’ll need to find pickup items and complete a coded puzzle – the first one to complete the puzzle and collect all the items wins the game!

But if those pesky ghosts tag you, you’ll lose a life. If you lose three lives, it’s game over.

Once you’ve escaped the maze, the party room will be waiting for you with classic gaming consoles and a DJ playing ’80s bangers.

The Pac Maze is coming to a yet-to-be-announced location in Brisbane on August 9 and 10, and Seaworks in Melbourne on August 23 and 24. Tickets for both cities are on sale now, starting at $37.84 for an hour-long gaming session.

Sessions run all day long, and it’s adults-only from 6pm onwards – so I think you know when you need to book it in.
