One more month until summer starts, and it’s time to start warming up for the most sought after season for all Victorians. November kicks off Melbourne’s festival-mania with Melbourne Music Week, The Espresso Martini Festival, the Mind, Body, and Spirit Festival all taking place. Rounding it out is a celebration for Melbourne’s favourite community radio station, a virtual reality wonderland, and some new places to hang out on weekends.

‘ON AIR: 40 Years Of 3RRR’ is the first-ever exhibition showcasing showcasing Melbourne’s most successful community radio station. ON AIR will feature original artworks, photographs, posters, magazines, videos of live-to-air performances and much more. The exhibition will launch on Friday November 18 and will run until January 29 at The State Library of Victoria. Entry is free, so you better get down on opening night to pay some respect to the station that’s been the heartbeat of Melbourne for decades. Happy birthday RRR!
Dingo’s made your cocktail
Melburnians love all things Australiana. From dolewave music, to tinnies of VB, there’s a special place in our hearts for everything related to our fair nation. Play On
Taking place every Friday night in November, Play On is a concert series that seeks to merge classical music with rad EDM. Melbourne’s best classical musicians will present a set of chamber music before the city’s best DJs take to the decks and transform the party. Featuring sets by Edd Fisher and Big Rig, this series is bound to be pretty damn special. It’s taking place at Collingwood Underground Carpark (cool); pre-sale tickets are $12 and can be purchased here.

Espresso martini anyone?
The inaugural Espresso Martini Festival is hitting Melbourne this November, care of Mr. Black Spirits, and people are losing their respective minds. The festival will bring together Melbourne’s best bars, coffee shops, food trucks, tunes and coffee pong (yes, you read right) for a lovely day of caffeinated glory. The festival has announced three sessions on November 4, 5, and 6 and tickets are on sale for $25 here.

Melbourne Music Week
It’s back! Melbourne Music Week is taking place this year form November 11 to 19, and there are hundreds of events to choose from. Highlights include a focus on ‘Androgynous Music‘ and performances by Tyrannamen, Palm Springs, The Drones, My Disco and so much more. Tickets are available at the Melbourne Music Week website, with considerable discounts given to students and people under 25.
