Taco Bell In Australia: First NSW Store Opening In Newcastle Next Week

When I was a kid growing up in a tiny country town near Newcastle, I had big dreams of moving away to the city. But now I’m low-key regretting my decision, because the next Taco Bell in Australia is finally opening in Newcastle in the next few weeks.

First the world’s first drive-through-only KFC and now this — Newcastle is sure shooting for the stars in every foodie’s sky. The American champion of Tex Mex announced plans to open two stores in NSW earlier this year, but until now we’ve just been guessing at a date.

Well, now Taco Bell has finally promised that they’ll have an open date for us next week (!!!) for the first NSW store in Newcastle.

The restaurant will be in Jesmond Central shopping centre, and there have been hints at a big party to mark the opening. Expect exclusive merch and a delicious giveaway.

The Newcastle store will have all the usual menu items, including burritos, quesadillas, tacos and some seriously loaded nachos. We’ve got our eye on the Cheesy Gordita Crunch tbh — a two-layer taco with melted cheese in between the shells.

No Tex Mex feast would be complete without a frozen margarita, which will thankfully feature on the menu alongside beer, cider and real iced tea.

The Newcastle store will join seven that are already open in Queensland, and will soon be joined by a new restaurant in Blacktown and two in Victoria, including one in South Yarra. We’re very here for the renaissance of Taco Bell in Australia.
