Sydney’s Hippest New Boutique Hotel Opens Today

That rooftop pool is where you want to be this summer.

The former Clare Hotel in Sydney’s Chippendale was a blue-collar-pub-turned-uni-bar, home to many hazy evenings during its years as a late-night hangout. Having undergone a huge facelift, the Old Clare Hotel re-opens its doors today as Sydney’s newest hip boutique hotel.

ABERCROMBIE ROOM BATHROOM

The hotel links two heritage listed buildings – the former Carlton & United Breweries Administration Building and the Clare Hotel pub – offering contemporary accommodation while retaining many of the buildings’ original features.

The fit out is vintage meets modern minimalism – think exposed walls, original large framed windows, unique vintage furniture, white marble bathrooms and even a bespoke scent created especially for the hotel by Maison Balzac.

THE OLD CLARE HOTEL CLARE BAR

Or hotel guests can take in the panoramic city views with a drink in hand at the rooftop pool and bar.

Three standalone restaurants will also open in the hotel, including Silvereye, open on September 22 and run by former Noma chef Sam Miller. A day spa is set to launch in early 2016.
