We’ve Finally Gotten Out First Look At Super Nintendo World And We Want To Go There ASAP

Super Nintendo World has been on our radar for over a year now, but we’ve finally gotten our first look inside the theme park thanks to a couple of leaked videos.

The park was set to open in Universal Studios Osaka this year alongside the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. That’s obviously been delayed by, oh, everything, but at least we can finally get a sneak peak at the park we’ll (one day) be able to play in.

Early footage of Super Nintendo World shows a colourful theme park full of life-size Mario characters and worlds.

We can see colourful sets, life-sized green shells, Koopa Troopas, Goombas, coin boxes, a Piranha Plant, and even Bowser’s Castle. So far we still haven’t seen the full-size Mario Kart course, but good things take time — even though I already want to move in here and never leave.

Another video shows Thwomp, one of Mario’s nemesis, in action and it looks exactly like it does in the games. Thwomps are, of course, giant stone blocks that bounce up and down trying to flatten players.

A third video shows the park at night, and you can see Thwomp’s eyes glowing red. At this point, we’re beyond keen for Super Nintendo World to finally open.

“Super Nintendo World is composed of numerous attractions, shops, and restaurants designed to allow people to experience the world of Nintendo IP in real life,” said Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa.

Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto even said that the park’s delay means they can spend more time “carefully developing the facilities”. Basically, it’s going to be worth the wait.
