Amazing ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Filming Locations From Around The World

For the past 40 years, Star Wars has transported audiences to galaxies far, far away, but a few of those fictional lands are closer to home than you think.

Here are some of the filming locations for the new Star Wars: The Last Jedi that you can go and visit.

Skellig Michael, Ireland (Ahch-to)

Earlier this year, when the trailer for The Last Jedi dropped, fans put Ireland’s Skellig Michael — Where Rey and Luke’s first meeting was filmed — at the top of their bucket list.

The isle’s rough and rugged terrain boasts truly magical scenery fit for the big-screen. On the island, you can explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed land for yourself on an eco-tour.

It’s the perfect terrain for hiking too, reaching heights of 220m above sea-level.

Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia (Crait)

Salar de Uyuni is the world’s largest salt flat, at more than 10,500 square kilometres. It’s close to 4000m above sea level, and located in the Daniel Campos Province in Positi, in southwest Bolivia, near the crest of the Andes.

The Salar was formed as a result of transformations between several prehistoric lakes. It’s covered by a few metres of salt crust, which has an extraordinary flatness.

The salt flats are given a starring role in The Last Jedi as the mineral planet of Crait.

Dubrovnik, Croatia (Canto Bight)

The Adriatic Sea-side town of Dubrovnik, Croatia, is no stranger to TV and movie stardom, having been the filming location of blockbusters like Game of Thrones, Robin Hood, James Bond and, now, Star Wars. It’s also one of the most popular tourists destinations in the Mediterranean.

Last Jedi transforms Dubrovnik into an otherworldly and high-end casino city — kind of like the Monte Carlo of the Star Wars universe.

What’re you waiting for? It’s time to set out on a quest of your own.
