This Short Film Will Make You Want To Drop Everything And Go To Morocco

Morocco is enthralling. With the blue city of Chefchaouen, stacked houses and very Instagrammable pools, it looks as good from the sky as it does from the ground.

Portugese filmmaker Bernardo Bacalhau visited Morocco to capture the beauty of the country using a DJI Phantom 3 Pro drone. What started as a small personal project ended up a tireless document of Morocco’s expansive landscape. The result was this insanely beautiful short film:

The short film captures the crystal blue lakes, roads, green countryside and dunes of desert sand. Speaking to Lonely Planet, Bachau said that the entire film only took him eight days to shoot. “I did 3700km in eight days. I spent most of the time in my car, but it was completely worth it. The roads are very good in Morocco; the pavement is amazing, so it wasn’t that difficult.”

He also said that Morocco was the most diverse place he’s ever visited. “It’s full of different colours, from the blue city of Chefchaouen, to the orange and red of the desert, the greens of the north, and the yellows of the medinas. The sunrise in the medina of Fez was undoubtedly my favourite moment. I really love the place, and I tried to capture that in my video,” he said.
