Hitting the open road with a good group of mates is hard to beat. Road trips give you an ultimate taste of freedom, allow you to create long-lasting memories with pals, and — most importantly — are almost guaranteed to kill your Instagram followers dead with envy.

If you’re planning a trip of your own, listen up: The world’s most-Instagrammed road trips have been revealed.

A new study from holiday comparison site TravelSupermarket has analysed the amount of times a destination was tagged and the frequency of hashtags on Instagram to bring you a curated list of the most Instagrammable road trips.

#1 Route 66, USA
