Sydney’s Iconic QVB Has Two Incredible New Late-Night Bars
Sydney’s nightlife might be in a bit of a funny place right now, but there’s no shortage of excellent new bars, cafes and restaurants opening. The latest are particularly impressive, taking up residence in the gorgeous and famous Queen Victoria Building smack bang in the middle of the CBD. Reign and Esquire will both open this month (Reign actually opens today, 15 March!) in the iconic Sydney building, ready to welcome you into their post-work drink arms.

Reign at the QVB

Reign is a champagne parlour and bar serving up some of the best bubbles from around the country. It takes the level one location previously occupied by the ABC Store (RIP) in a handsome musk, brass and marble getup.
Also on offer alongside cocktails and champagne, Reign will offer dishes such as king brown mushrooms with pork fried rice or honey-and-thyme ice cream sandwiches. Yum.
Esquire at the QVB
Esquire Drink and Dine is the second venue, opening in the QVB soon on Thursday March 28. It’s on level two and takes inspiration from New York’s supper clubs, with a comfortable Aussie twist on its design.
It’s a more moody, broody location, with lower lighting and darker furnishings, perfect for philosophising or just catching up on MAFS. The fare is weightier too, with more than 100 wines, whiskies and cocktails on offer paired with dishes like crumbed sweetbreads, a gruyere jaffle or whole roast chicken for two.
