South Australia Will Re-Open Their Borders To New South Wales This Week
Following the news of Northern Territory’s plan to re-open their borders to New South Wales, South Australia has followed suit.
Provided there’s no spike in COVID-19 cases (obviously), New South Welshmen will be allowed back into SA from this Thursday, September 24, without a 14-day quarantine.

Despite a new case of a Sydney taxi driver who worked for nine days while infectious, SA Premier Steven Marshall said it wasn’t a factor and that the re-opening would be a relief for businesses and families in both states.
“SA Health has all the necessary information with regard to that case over the weekend,” he said. “The high level of cooperation between SA Health and NSW Health has given us all the confidence that this is the right decision”.
Chief Public Health Officer Professor Nicola Spurrier agreed with the move, praising NSW for how they’ve handled the virus.
“We do need to be patient with this disease… but with the restrictions in New South Wales and their extremely good contact tracing, they’ve been able to get on top of those clusters,” she said.

In other news, QLD is also reopening — at least a little bit.
Despite her extremely steadfast attitude towards keeping Queensland borders closed to New South Wales, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk just announced the state’s border bubble will soon open to 41 new postcodes in their neighbour state.
Which means that from 1am on October 1, residents of Byron Bay, Ballina, Lismore, Richmond Valley and Glen Innes will be able to travel into Queensland, and vice versa. You’ll still need to fill out a border pass, however. Having done one myself though, they’re pretty easy as long as you’re following the rules.
