Qantas & Rockpool Team Up To Deliver The Best Beverages In The Sky
Your next Qantas flight just got that little bit more special. Announced today, the airline is introducing a new team of wine experts and mixologists to select wine, Champagne and spirits for Qantas domestic and international flights and lounges.
A team of 16 experienced sommeliers and mixologists from the Rockpool Restaurant Group will be tasting the best drinks from around the country to share with you on your next flight.
Did someone say ‘fancy?’
The expert team will spend four days each year blind tasting, reviewing and selecting from over 1200 Australian wines and Champagnes to add to Qantas flights. The team, named The Qantas Rockpool Sommeliers, will provide extensive tasting notes for the International First and Domestic Business cabins and also provide recommendations for wine in the Qantas lounges.
You’ll certainly be in good hands with the team lead by David Lawler, the Head of Sommeliers Australia; Sebastian Crowther, one of only two Master Sommeliers in Australia, as well as head bartenders from Rockpool restaurants around the country.
Don’t stress if wine isn’t your thing either – the Rockpool mixologists will be creating monthly cocktails to be shared in the Qantas lounge.
The Qantas Rockpool Sommeliers are holding their first Qantas wine tasting this month.
