Paris Is Getting A Floating Hotel On The Seine River

Floating hotels are so hot right now, and there’s no guessing why – everyone knows that luxury is always best served surrounded by water, and when that particular body of water flows through the city of Paris? Well that sounds pretty perfect to us.

It seems like such a shame no one thought of this before – the expansive canals of Paris’ Seine River seem ripe for a little floatel action and this new boutique hotel, named Off-Paris Seine, will certainly find an eager audience of hotel goers keen on experiencing something a little out of the ordinary.

The floating hotel will be moored right next to the Charles De Gaulle Bridge between the 5th and 11th arrondissements in central Paris. Off-Paris Seine is the brainchild of uber cool French hotel chain Elegancia and Citysurfing, a company who specialise in creating cooler than cool floating structures – so with these guys at the helm, you know this is going to be pretty awesome.

Converted from an old catamaran, the eco-chic building will include 54 rooms, 4 suites, a 400 square-metre terrace on the river bank and even a 15-metre swimming pool. Rooms at Off-Paris Seine will start at around €160 ($244 AUD) per night. Sign us up, s’il vous plaît!
