Overload On Cuteness At Australia’s First Hello Kitty Diner

It’s official, everyone’s favourite plush toy icon Hello Kitty has secured her path to world domination – Hello Kitty has made its way to Sydney to open Australia’s very first Hello Kitty Diner.

Opening its doors to lucky patrons at the newly established dining hall District in Chatswood yesterday, the Hello Kitty Diner is set to provide an authentic American-style diner experience, with an added Hello Kitty touch. The cutesy space, which is rife with kitschy decor, has been officially approved by HK creators Sanrio with Hello Kitty’s official designer Yuko Yamaguchi travelling over from Japan to attend the launch yesterday.

So what can you expect from a Hello Kitty-themed diner? A whole lot of cute, apparently. The diner has hinted at an eclectic mix of asian-fusion treats, anything from greasy burgers to decadent desserts and milkshakes. We’ve already got our eyes set on their Gee Gee burger – Korean fried chicken, cucumber kimchi and pickled vegetables – yum!

After conquering the world of stationary and fashion, Hello Kitty opened their very own yum cha restaurant in Hong Kong earlier this year which saw patrons munch on dumplings and dishes shaped like the adorable cartoon kitten.

Following its soft launch yesterday, the Hello Kitty Diner team expect the restaurant to be open to the public soon. Keep your eyes on their Facebook page for news on the official opening.
