The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter Is Getting A Night-Time Makeover This Year

While it already feels like an age has passed since Christmas, we’re still getting over The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s incredible festive light show.

A first for the park, The Magic of Hogwarts Castle projection display saw the iconic wizarding school “wrapped” in Potter-inspired holiday designs, along with a very conspicuous advertisement for Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, before being transformed into a huge ice sculpture.

Now, Universal Orlando Resort has confirmed the wizards behind the festive display are already working on a new light show, which will make its debut in 2018.

The yet-to-be-named display is just one of the many exciting updates coming to the Orlando park in 2018, with an equally secretive new ride to open in the Hogsmeade village section of the park later in the year. It replaces Dragon Challenge, a set of intertwined rollercoasters that closed in September, 2017.

In the meantime, A Celebration of Harry Potter – a kind of ComicCon for Potterheads – will return to the Orlando park on January 26. Actors Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), Stanislav Yanevski (Viktor Krum) and James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley) have all been confirmed on the line-up, with more movie talent to be announced in the coming weeks.

Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter (where you can celebrate Valentine’s Day this year).

You must have drunk some Felix Felicis, because some ticket and accommodation packages are still available.
