Melbourne’s Hosting A Dog Festival This Weekend Because Of Course It Is

Dog lover? Puppy fanatic? Chien afficionado? Welcome. You’re with your people now, and we’ve got some great news.

Barkly Square in Melbourne’s inner north is hosting the festival it was long meant to host – the Barkly Barks Dog Festival (I see what you did there). And guess what? You’re invited.

Barkly Barks Dog Festival is set to be a paw-sitively paw-some day out and is set to bring unbridled amounts of joy to both humans and their four-legged friends.

There will be a doggie day spa, an agility training course and professional photographers acting as ‘pupparazzi’ all day. The day will culminate in a Pet Parade, which will see dogs battle it out for creative titles – categories include ‘Best hair’, ‘Most stylish’, ‘Best trick’, ‘Dog and owner look-alike’ and ‘Face only a mother could love’. N’awww.

Dogs of all sizes are welcome – and if you don’t have your own, no worries: there’ll be plenty of puppy love to go around. Celebrate your puppy pride at Barkly Square, 90-106 Sydney Road, Brunswick on Sunday May 29. The festivities kick off at 10am.
