PSA: Melbourne Is Getting A Food Festival All About Cannoli This Weekend
Maybe you made a New Year’s Resolution to eat healthy, but at AWOL we’re encouraging you to put your good intentions aside and get yourself to Avondale Heights in Melbourne for an Italian food festival this Sunday. Cannoli is the star of the show, so it’s an easy choice. Come on, it’s basically a cannoli festival.

The event will showcase all kinds of Italian cuisine, but the real inspiration is cannoli. We’re talking cannoli filled with ricotta, pistachio and sweet, sweet Nutella. Local Avondale Heights legends Cannoli Bar will be serving these and more all day. They’ll also be running a workshop to teach budding bakers how to make the Sicilian pastries at home.

Pizzicotto Strathmore will be slinging hand-made pizzas, Bianco Latte will be there with their ice cream and gelato carts, Providore Sisters will have jars of their homemade sauces and Il Panzerotto will be serving up their signature panzerotti – pockets of fried dough stuffed with sweet and savoury ingredients like mozzarella, prosciutto, chicken, spinach or apple. Cannoli Bar will even be sending arancini your way.

A few stalls and chefs at the cannoli festival will be giving demonstrations, too. Pick up some tips on how to make traditional tiramisu, authentic pizza and homemade pasta sauce so you can up your cooking game.
There’ll even be kids activities and demonstrations ranging from pasta making to eco-friendly crafting sessions.
