Melbourne’s Pop-Up Beach Bar Is Back Offering $2 Oysters And A Bottomless Weekend Brunch
This week, Port Melbourne welcomes back The Exchange Beach Club to its sandy shores, buzzing with food and drink specials a stone’s throw from the ocean.
Australia has incredible beaches, but one area we can’t deny falling a little short of our European mates is in the beach club department. However for Melbourne (and its visitors) this summer, that changes.
Opening for the first time in January 2020, The Exchange Beach Club is back for another summer session, bringing private cabanas, umbrella-covered outdoor seating, beachside day beds, delicious food and bevvies and even entertainment right onto Port Melbourne Beach.

Punters can expect a container bar with a full kitchen, pumping out tasty treats like Red Coral lobster and prawn roll with four pillars bloody shiraz gin caviar, Cape Grim wagyu katsu sanga and Bistro Morgan Ice-Cream Doughnuts (with Sando lemon myrtle custard, Davidson plum jam and your choice of ice-cream from the cart).
On Tuesdays, saddle up for $2 oysters all day long and on weekends from 10:30am to 12pm, the club will be hosting bottomless brunch with 90 minutes of drinks for $49 per person. That includes Aperol spritz and passionfruit caprioskas.

Drinks-wise, there’s the expected summery tipples like margaritas, the aforementioned passionfruit caprioskas, seltzers, vino and prosecco, and a cocktail called a coco-jito (served in a coconut, which is obviously how all beverages served on the beach should come), plus aperitivo specials Monday through Wednesday with $6 Aperol spritzes.
And if you want to get yours to go, the club is doing takeaway on their full menu.
You’ll definitely want to book ahead for this one, and feel free to bring along your doggo as The Exchange Beach Club also happens to be pooch-friendly.
