Mario Kart Is Finally Coming To Phones With A Whole Heap Of New Maps Based On IRL Cities

Mario Kart Tour Will Feature A Bunch Of New Maps In Real-Life Cities

Nintendo has finally answered one of the universe’s greatest, most constant pleas and announced that Mario Kart is coming to phones. When Mario Kart Tour launches later this month, we’ll be able to play the best racing game ever made anywhere, anytime. And we’ll play on a whole heap of new maps based on real-life locations around the world.

Yep, Mario Kart Tour takes your favourite plumber and friends on thrilling adventures in Paris, Tokyo, New York and more. Race around Tokyo Tower, fly through the Eiffel Tower and zoom past the Empire State Building.

But don’t worry, the game will also bring back favourites like Rainbow Road, Waluigi Pinball, Toad Circuit and Bowser’s Castle. Just in case you were starting to miss them!

The maps will change every fortnight, so you can expect even more real-life hot spots to be added to the game in the near future.

Other than that, Mario Kart Tour looks like the game we know and love! According to IGN, 30 racers have been announced including Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad and Wario. You’ll use your finger to steer, sling items and clear your screen when other players send shells after you. Mari Kart Tour releases for Android and iPhone on September 25. You can pre-register here.

But if this isn’t enough high-octane action for you, you’ll be pleased to know that Super Nintendo World in Japan will feature a full-size Mario Kart course!
