This Map Shows Where You Can (And Defs Can’t) Sunbake In The Nuddy Around The World
While I must admit that being topless and nude in public places has never been my thing, I’ve met enough people in my life to know that it’s a popular pastime, and I applaud you all for doing you.
In fact, this new map will make it even easier for those of you who like to let it all hang free do your thing and even plan your next trip by marking the best nude and topless beaches around the world.
This handy global guide is thanks to swimwear brand Pour Moi, who discovered that in the last 12 months, there were 10.7 million Google searches for ‘nude beaches’, ‘nude resorts’ and ‘sunbathe nude’, globally.
While most of these searches came out of the USA, Japan and Brazil, when factoring in population size it was actually Australia, New Zealand and Ireland who most wanted to wear their birthday suits at the beach.
Of course, it’s not as simple as laying down a towel and whipping of your cozzies — there are laws and expectations depending on which country you’re in. This worldwide map is colour coded to help you work out what you can do, where — red means public nudity of any kind is illegal, green means the country is pretty relaxed about public topless or nude sunbathing and amber shows countries that have ambiguous or contradictory nudity laws so you’ll need to do your research.
For example, Costa Rica is amber because public nudity is technically illegal but there are unofficial naturist resorts and beaches.
