Lune Croissanterie Is Saving Easter By Bringing Back Its Hot Cross Cruffins

If there is one thing I know about Melbourne, it’s that if you mention the name Lune the locals go into a full on meltdown. I can’t blame you, I’ve been taken to the Fitzroy croissanterie before and hot DAMN it was good. So I can only assume that the return of their famed hot cross cruffins for Easter will start a legitimate frenzy.

What is a hot cross cruffin? Basically a cross between a cruffin (croissant x muffin) and a hot cross bun. So basically all my favourite things combined into one. Just look at them:

Inside these mouth-watering pastries you’ll find sultanas, candied citrus peel and a spiced custard which is made with star-anise, cinnamon, mixed spice and nutmeg. Of course, the traditional cross will mark the top. Just like a normal hot cross bun, only better.

Lune will be rolling out these bad boys for pick up and delivery all long weekend, from Good Friday until Easter Monday. You can see the full menu and order online at their website. No-one will blame you if a few other classic menu items make it into your basket.

Seriously, is anyone else’s mouth watering? My only regret is that I didn’t immediately move to Melbourne when travel first started getting shut down.
