Aussie vegan fast food eatery Lord of the Fries is celebrating National French Fry Day on Tuesday, July 13 with free fries for all, giving away it’s delicious shoestring hot chippies and classic sauce in nearly all of its stores across Australia.

Obviously, hot chippies make any situation better and the only thing that can really top them is getting those fries completely gratis. Enter Lord of the Fries, celebrating National French Fry Day on July 13 by giving away free fries and classic sauce to customers. There is a catch though: it’s only for one hour, between 1pm and 2pm.

The Lords haven’t made ordering a second item a requirement — you don’t have to purchase something else from the menu in order to be eligible for the freebie — so, this is a bonafide potato party. However, the fries are limited to one per person.

If you’re a Sydneysider in lockdown and wondering if the Newtown location is still going to participate, co-founder Amanda Leigh Walker tells AWOL yes, absolutely – but postponed to a later date outside of lockdowns. So Sydney, you get a raincheck on your free fries.

Considering fries are the namesake item, Lord of the Fries take them seriously. They’re all about using fresh Aussie potatoes to create the perfect fries: thick but not too thick, crispy but not too crunchy, delicious and saucy and most definitely not cooked in the cheapest oil available. They also have way more than just fries on the menu, with everything from an all-day brekkie to vegan hot dogs and ice-cream sandwiches. The menu also happens to be vegan, Kosher and Halal. She’s inclusive.
