London Is Getting A Fried Chicken Festival (No, Seriously)

London is getting its very own fried chicken festival this May, because the world just keeps gifting us with brilliant things. London you smart, beautiful city, you.

The festival goes by the name of The Bucket List: London’s Ultimate Fried Chicken Adventure and is run by the city’s bonafide street food masters, Kerb. The mission? To bring only the tastiest fried chicken vendors in the city under one extremely delicious, fried, fatty roof. My arteries!

The tastiest festival in town will include fried chicken masters by the likes of Mother Clucker, Other Side Fried, Killa Dilla, Only Jerkin’ and Bill or Beak. Points for the punny names, guys.

Each ticketed guest will receive a bucket and a list of eight vendors to tick off their ‘bucket list’ (get it?). After one walk-through, you’ll be teeming with a haul that includes tea-brined, twice buttermilk soaked Cajun chicken strips, szechuan miso tenders with fermented green chilli hot sauce and Korean spicy wings.

Excuse me, I just drooled on my keyboard. Give me a minute.

OK, we’re back! Phew! You can check out the full lineup here. After you’ve tried the chicken from each vendor, you can vote for your favourite to see who’s truly the fried chicken royalty of London.

As well as fried food, there’ll be vendors serving up desserts and drinks to the excellent sound of live music. You’ll also get to watch a robo-chicken race because, why not.

If you happen to be stomping around London on May 5 and 6, you can buy a ticket here. It’s hosted at the West Handyside Factory in Kings Cross and will set you back around $45AUD. Think of all the fried chicken goodness you get? Totally worth it.
