FYI, You Can Rent Leonardo DiCaprio’s Palm Springs Holiday Home

If you’re planning on booking in, you had better be earning a movie-star salary.

When he’s not whiling away the days on model-filled yachts in tropical locations, Leonardo DiCaprio is a pretty savvy property investor. Which is good news for us non-models, because his sprawling mid-century home in California’s majestic San Jacinto Mountains is available to rent on a short-term basis.

Designed by architect Donald Wexler in the ‘60s, the sleek mid-century property sprawls over more than 650 square metres and sits on 1.3 acres of land in Palm Springs’ Old Las Palmas neighbourhood, an area made famous by former residents Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe.

There are six bedrooms, seven-and-a-half bathrooms and a guest house, along with floor-to-ceiling windows, a cocktail bar, and a heated pool, spa and sauna. There’s also a daily maid service to keep everything in order.

The Wolf of Wall Street actor purchased it in early 2014 for $6.8 million ($5.3 million USD), but has never lived there. In fact, it’s been available to cashed-up holiday makers ever since.

If you’re planning on booking in, you had better be earning a movie-star salary. The property will set you back a cool $4800 ($3750 USD) per night, or around $400 per person if you round up enough friends to fill all the available beds.
