Here’s Your Shot At Spending A Night At The Real-Life Lego House
A little over a month ago, the folks over at Lego threw the doors to the world’s first real-life Lego House open. And, now, the world’s biggest brick enthusiast will win a brick-tastic overnight stay, courtesy of Airbnb.
[related_articles]52483[/related_articles]To win, master builders must put their heads together and describe what they’d build if they had an infinite supply of Lego bricks.
In return, they’ll have the Lego House to themselves for one whole night, where they’ll create get to work on their creation (assisted by Jamie Berard, one of the world’s preeminent Master Builders) before retiring to sleep in a two-room Lego house under a giant Lego waterfall, where everything from the lamps to the teddy bears are made from Lego bricks.
There are just a few house rules the eventual winners are asked to abide by: adults are advised to wear Lego-proof slippers at all times and guests asked to build anything they feel is missing from their dream Lego bedroom.
(While there’s a virtually infinite number of bricks at the Lego House, there is a Lego moulding machine in the lobby if you find yourself wanting for more.)
“I am so intrigued to see what people will imagine,” Berard said in a media release. “We have unlimited bricks here, and in some ways it can be a bit challenging but it also liberates you to imagine something that is truly meaningful and expressive. The uniqueness of the opportunity to stay in the home of the Lego brick should hopefully inspire everyone.”
The Lego House opened on September 28 in Billund, Denmark – the birthplace of the wildly popular plastic construction bricks. The sprawling campus is split into give colour-coded sections that reflect the company’s “Learning through Play” philosophy: fun, experimenting, tinkering, messing around and making mistakes.
It’s packed with activities for kids (and big kids) of all ages, and boasts a number of the world’s biggest Lego sculptures, including the six-million-brick Tree of Creativity.
To enter the competition, simply tell the folks over at Airbnb what you’d build with an infinite supply of Lego bricks by 5:59pm on November 17.
