You Can Build Your Own Igloo Accomodation At This Swiss Ice Village

Iglu-Dorf

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, everyone’s searching for that perfect couples’ weekend getaway. And if a camping trip is on the cards, consider taking things up a notch with a night or two in an igloo you’ve constructed with your bare hands.

Iglu-Dorf snow and ice village is offering a truly unique sleep experience, allowing you to do just that.

You’ll find Iglu-Dorf nestled among the snow-capped mountains of Stansstad, Switzerland, where, every winter, the entire village is built from scratch, taking a reported 3000-plus hours to complete.

It’s here that couples have the chance to sleep in legit igloos they’ve built themselves. The Love Nest package includes welcome drinks on arrival, a guided tour through the village and a crash course in igloo construction, snacks and flowing prosecco, a fondue dinner, access to the Jacuzzi and sauna, and breakfast in bed the next morning.

The icy creations often take a full day to construct. And once completed, guests are kitted out with sheepskins and expedition sleeping bags capable of withstanding -40 degree weather.

The full experience costs $500 (CHF379) per person, per night.
