Kayak Through Europe For Free And Be Kind To The Environment At The Same Time
Euro holidays, freebies and being kind to the environment are three of the greatest things in the world. GreenKayak is combining these things so you can kayak for free around Europe. The catch? All you have to do is show a little eco-friendly love along the way.
GreenKayak is a non-profit organisation based in Denmark that’s offering travellers a brand-new way to see the rivers and canals in Denmark, Germany, Ireland and Norway. They’ll let you loose on the water with a kayak and you’ll get to paddle to your heart’s content. And it won’t cost you a dime as long as you pick up any rubbish you see in the water along the way.
The initiative has been running for two years and volunteers have collected more than 10 tonnes of waste from harbours in Copenhagen and Aarhus. Now it’s expanding to other European destinations to offer more unique travel experiences and spread the eco-friendly love.

“In Denmark, people hang out on canals and eat pizza and unfortunately see trash floating by,” GreenKayak founder and CEO Tobias Weber-Andersen told USA Today. “You can’t take your shirt off and jump in, but you can get in a GreenKayak and make an impact.”
Kayaks are a perfect way to clean up the water. They’re easy to control and can get into difficult to reach areas, so even the most inexperienced sailors can jump in and do their part for the environment. GreekKayaks can seat two people and a container for any trash that’s picked up, and the company provides lifejackets and all of the equipment you’ll need for a safe adventure.
So if you’re planning a Euro trip soon and want to put some good back into the world, you can book a free kayak on the GreenKayak website.
