QLD Is Handing Out Travel Vouchers To The Gold Coast, Here’s How To Nab One
Next on the agenda for the Queensland Government’s Holiday Dollars campaign are Gold Coast travel vouchers. Here’s everything you need to know about applying for yours.
The Queensland government has announced that 30,000 Gold Coast travel vouchers — valued at $100 each — will be rolled out as part of the Holiday Dollars scheme. Previously covering Brisbane, the Whitsundays and Cairns, it’s aimed to entice Queenslanders to take a little vacay. However this time, you’re essentially going in a draw to ‘win’ a voucher and there’s a 72-hour window to apply.

What can you use your Gold Coast travel vouchers for?
The 30,000 Gold Coast travel vouches can be used to receive 50 percent off select accommodation and tourism experiences in the region, in partnership with Destination Gold Coast. The Holiday Dollars program
“Tourism experiences are activities and could include guided tours around the region, adventure experiences like kayaking, day spa experiences, scenic flights and entry to wildlife parks, zoos and aquariums,” explains the website. “Gold Coast Holiday Dollars vouchers may also be redeemed at participating accommodation providers.”
With everything from jet ski tours and chopper rides to vegan bathhouses and hinterland markets, there’s so much you can use your Gold Coast travel vouchers for.

When to apply
Registration opens on Monday, June 7. The draw will remain open for 72 hours – you’ve got until 11.59pm AEST on June 10, 2021 to enter your details.
How to apply
Queensland residents aged over 18 are eligible to apply. If that’s you, set an alarm for June 7 and head here to register.
The voucher recipients will be randomly selected (so don’t stress about it being a first-come, first-served scenario) and announced from June 16, with the lucky ducks receiving a text message confirmation letting them know their bid was successful.
When to book and travel
If you receive confirmation, you’ll need to book your Gold Coast adventure by July 21, 2021 for travel by September 17, 2021.
And if you need more of a reason as to why you should be headed to the Gold Coast while Australia is essentially closed to international tourism (bar New Zealand), then this might tip you over the edge. There’s never been a better time.
