Mourn The End Of ‘Game Of Thrones’ With This Incredible Exhibition

The Game Of Thrones touring exhibition is coming to Ireland

All good things must come to an end and, for Game Of Thrones, that finale is coming sooner rather than later: the beloved fantasy show is set to air its final (and presumably exceedingly bloody) season this April.

But hey, weep not that it’s leaving us; smile that we ever had it at all.

And anyway, just because the show’s coming to an end, that doesn’t mean that the Game Of Thrones content machine need come to a shuddering halt. Case in point: a massive, immersive GoT exhibition is set to hit Ireland from April 11 until September.

The Game Of Thrones Touring Exhibition has travelled around the world. It’s currently delighting fans in Berlin, and has previously set up shop in Paris and Barcelona.

But it’s a natural fit for Ireland, given that much of the principal photography of the show was filmed on that emerald isle.

Excitingly, the exhibition is a collaboration with HBO, meaning it’s full of exclusive props, costumes, and facts that GoT diehards won’t be able to encounter anywhere else.

Punters can explore the legendary Castle Black, traverse a warrior-studded garrison, get up close and personal with an array of Targaryen outfits, and, of course, take their seat on the show’s infamous Iron Throne, the jewel in the exhibit’s crown.

Oh, and fans of Daenerys Targaryen herself — AKA literally everyone who watches the show — will also be chuffed to hear that the exhibit boasts one of the dragon queen’s fire-breathing brood.

It’s all going down at the Titanic Exhibition Centre, AKA the TEC, in the heart of Ireland’s bustling Belfast. Tickets are currently going for £15 (AU$27) making it a pretty cheap day out.

Of course, diehard GoT fans may never want to leave: after the show has wrapped up its final six episodes, the best way one can stay immersed in Westeros is by wandering the exhibit’s floors — or by heading over to Finland’s delightful Game of Thrones-inspired hotel.
