A Floating Pod That Looks Like A Flying Saucer Exists And It Can Sail Around The World

It’s a bird, it’s a plane… it’s a 560-square-foot floating pod with a glass bottom that can be sailed around the world.

In this locked-down times, leaving it all behind and sailing around the world seems like a better option than ever, if you ask me. Doing it in (weird) style with a giant, floating boat that looks like a flying saucer is just a giant cherry on top.

Which is probably what architect Jean-Michel Ducancelle was thinking when he designed the giant an eco-friendly, floating pod, Anthénea. Just get a load of this promo video:

Just because it’s off-shore does not mean it skimps on any luxury. Running on solar power, thanks to the solar panels on the roof, they’ve thought of everything. The pod has three living spaces: a living room, bedroom and the outdoor area to chill.

According to the website you can expect 360 degree glass surface of polished concrete, 360 degree panoramic views, an underwater observatory, and a kitchenette. Not to mention a round XL bed and an overflow round bathtub (with sea or fresh water) in the bedroom.

Plus the sunshade roof is fully motorised and automacally changes position to increase natural ventilation, based on the wind movement.

It’s basically Tiny Home/ Moving Home meets ocean and can someone sail it to Australia so I can have a go please? Unfortunately at the moment, you’ll have to be in on Côte de Granit Rose (the Pink Granite Coast) in Brittany, France.

Still, we can dream.

A night would set you back about $470 a night, or you could always buy yourself one for nearly $750,000 and pop over to see it later.
