Fish Your Way To One Million Dollars In The NT

Winning a million dollars could be as easy as casting a line. As part of a huge promotion by Tourism NT, a bunch of tagged barramundi have been released in the waters of the Top End. There are 75 fish tagged with $10,000 and one lucky barra tagged with $1-million. Let’s just call him the “Million Dollar Fish”.

There are three easy steps to entering (see below), but the first thing you need to do is book your holiday to the NT between October 1 to February 29. Then simply:

1. Register at www.milliondollarfish.com.au
2. Ensure you adhere to legal fishing practices and local signage. (For a tagged fish to be eligible it must be line caught)
3. If you are lucky enough to catch a tagged fish, make sure you meet the full terms and conditions as found via the Qantas website

Register by August 31 to win a trip for four to the NT worth $20,000. It includes return flights for four people, a three-day fishing charter, accommodation and, of course, fishing gear.

WHY 48 HOURS OF DARWIN WARMTH IS JUST WHAT YOU NEED

Qantas is currently offering cheap flights to the Top End, so there’s no better time to try and land the big one. In addition to fishing, you can take a dip in the swimming holes near Darwin, find a bargain at the Mindil Beach Sunset markets or take a drive out to Katherine and Kakadu National Park (about three hours from Darwin).
