Shut Up And Take Our Money: The First Photos Of Disney’s ‘Star Wars’ Land Are Here

With Disney’s D23 fan expo happening in Anaheim, California, this weekend, we’ve been expecting some big news from the purveyors of all things magical – and, boy have they delivered. Reps for the company went all out on the first night, releasing the first photos of the much-anticipated Star Wars Land attraction.

The photos and video, published in a blog post by Disney, show a scaled 15m 3D model of the new lands being built in the company’s California and Florida parks. They’re expected to open in 2019 and are rumoured to cost more than $1 billion a pop.

“Both Star Wars-inspired lands will transport guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before Wild Space, where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life,” the blog post reads.

It goes on to explain the new lands will be split into two attractions: one where fanatics can take a turn behind the controls of the Millennium Falcon and another that thrusts them into the centre of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

If the model looks this good, we’d recommend pencilling a 2019 Disney trip in now, because the real thing is going to be out of this world.
