Facebook Reveals The 20 Places We Checked-In To The Most This Year
Where have we been bragging about visiting this year? Thanks to Facebook’s Year In Review we now know the most-checked in locations for 2015, and no surprise here – the winner just happens to be the happiest place on earth.
Disney properties came in at number one on Facebook’s annual countdown, followed by Universal Studios parks across the world. “Disney Properties” encapsulates all of Disney’s parks and resorts including the ones in California, Florida, Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong and the newly opened resort in Shanghai – so it’s a little cheeky to throw all these locations together in one great big bundle. Same goes for Universal Studios, who have recently announced an opening date for Harry Potter World at Hollywood resort in California.
It seems bragging about visiting an amusement parks was an important milestone for many Facebook users in 2015 – along with the Disney parks and Universal Studios, Brazil’s Beta Carrero World made it into the list at number 11 as well as the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London at 12. Clearly we’re all just big kids after all.
While no Australian landmarks made it onto the list (there’s always next year, guys!), we can take solace in the fact that the list isn’t just all amusement parks – it seems we’re still seeking out a bit of nature too. US sites like the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, Central Park and Niagara Falls all made it into the top 10, as well as Brazil’s Ibirapuera urban park charting at number 15.
